As of this writing 11 of 12 deaths from the Coronavirus nationally are from the State of Washington. 9 of those 11 are from the Life Care Center in Kirkland Washington. This same care home was investigated and fined $67,000 in April 2019 following two outbreaks of flu affecting 17 patients and staff. Meanwhile public officials in Washington have come under pressure to take more aggressive action against the outbreak.

Care homes like this and so many others have a heightened responsibility during outbreaks like the flu and Coronavirus and have a duty to follow state mandated protocol designed to minimize the spread of infection. Protocols include basics like hand washing between each patient and keeping all common surfaces wiped down to minimize the spread of any virus. Care homes must also make certain to adequately train all care givers to recognize the signs and symptoms during a possible outbreak and respond accordingly. Response might include quarantine and other measures as mandated.

Adherence to state regulations is especially important in any elder care facility. Injuries and deaths in these facilities are some of the saddest cases we deal with and our ability to bring these providers to justice and get compensation based on their neglect is very satisfying and healing for the family of the victims. If you have a love one in an elder care home and you even suspect neglect issues please call our office at the first sign. That call might save tremendous suffering, save a single life or as the case in Kirkland Washington shows might save multiple lives.

This could be an on point example of broad based Elder Abuse. Most often

Never in my life did I think I would recommend an attorney. Somehow God sent this angel of an attorney to assist me in my personal injury lawsuit. I was told by lawyers in Bakersfield that my lawsuit was frivolous because there was money in it.
