There was study released recently warning of the dangers of cell phones and the radiation they emit. The author was able to tie these devices to a certain level of radiation and suggested that prolonged exposure could potentially cause serious injury and even death.  We applaud any research that leads to protection of the American public. The National Safety Council also released information in the past weeks regarding cell phones and their researchers went in a different direction. They were able to show that  1 out of 4 accidents is caused by texting while driving.  That means that 1.5 million drivers who are in the process of texting are in these crashes. While scientists spend time debating if Smartphones cause miscarriages or even brain tumors we know drivers are using them and causing otherwise preventable accidents.

As a society we need to drop the need to be nice or polite and demand that people keep both hands on the wheel, both eyes on the road and not text or even hold these devices while they are driving.
