A girl was killed and 5 other people were injured in a 5 car pile-up and northbound 99 due to the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck texting and failing to notice traffic had stopped. The resulting crash killed 1 and sent 5 others to the hospital with moderate injuries. The most seriously injured and the girl who was killed were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicles they were riding in.

Traffic had suddenly slowed to 15 mph, the 24 year old driver of the truck was driving at approximately 55 mph and failed to notice the change and he rear ended an Acura Integra. That collision caused him to strike a 2008 Honda in front of the Acura. The secondary collision launched the Ford Truck into the air, it rolled over on its roof after ejecting the driver. The Ford and the Acura came to rest in the lane of traffic moving in the other direction and 2 cars were unable to avoid the crash.

Drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be a factor in this crash, but the cause is clear. Driving distracted or allowing someone to drive distracted is becoming more of a problem every day. Distraction is more than cell phones and texting. On board entertainment systems, GPS systems, eating, drinking or anything that takes your or someone else’s attention from driving has the potential to lead to the same result. As manufacturers work to install more of these built in distractions you must work to protect yourself and your passengers. If you end up being injured by someone there may be much more to the cause than just an accident and you should call our office as soon as you are able so we can get to the bottom of what happened.

We represent people who are injured because of the careless and reckless acts of others. At the end of the day your case can only be settled one time and you need to know all of the facts beforehand. Never in my life did I think I would recommend an attorney. Somehow God sent this angel of an attorney to assist me in my personal injury lawsuit. I was told by lawyers in Bakersfield that my lawsuit was frivolous because there was money in it.
