PG&E is lobbying hard in Sacramento to reduce their liability as a result of the wildfires in the wine country in 2017. This is not in dispute and their ploy may actually be working! Governor Brown is considering limiting Utility company liability even when it can be proven https://www.sfchronicle.com/business/article/Brown-proposes-big-change-in-wildfire-liability-13101511.php the Utility is responsible for the damage. The concept is to shift the financial responsibility to the insurance company in the hopes they will just go along and write the check. Insurance companies are not likely to go along with this.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, a Union we have great respect for, placed a full page ad in the San Francisco Chronicle claiming lawyers are putting the energy system at risk. Nothing could be further from the truth. Imagine you were told you had to leave your home without notice and 6 hours later you learned you lost everything! This happened to a great number of residents of the wine country and sadly some people even died. Imagine now that something could have been done to prevent this, but the company https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-06-08/pg-e-equipment-tied-to-12-more-of-california-s-deadly-wildfires chose in advance to ignore a potential solution. Ask yourself if the same people who decided to ignore a potential solution will actually care or are going to work to help you rebuild your home and your life? Will they even bother to return your phone calls?

Someone will need to provide a voice for you. The technology to prevent fires caused by downed lines was available then and is now being installed by PG&E… the members of the IBEW are installing that technology. When does an insurance company pay a claim when it can be shown someone else is responsible for the loss? Why would cases like this be different? The likelihood is that those who lost their homes or the families of those who lost their lives will be the ones bearing the cost of these avoidable tragedies while the insurance companies and the utility companies continue pointing fingers. When you need us we will be there!

Never in my life did I think I would recommend an attorney. Somehow God sent this angel of an attorney to assist me in my personal injury lawsuit. I was told by lawyers in Bakersfield that my lawsuit was frivolous because there was money in it.
