No one ever wants to be the cause of a fatal accident. Those charges are being considered against Venus Williams.  This is the conclusion reached by a Palm Gardens Florida police officer after her accident with the Barson family was caught on camera.  The officer went on to say it appeared the actions of a third driver left Williams in a bad spot.

On June 9th 2017 tennis star athlete Venus Williams was driving straight on a green light as she exited her neighborhood.  A car turning left cut her off and forced her to stop mid way as she crossed a busy 6 lane intersection. When Ms. Williams started to move again her green light had turned to red and the car driven by Linda Barson had turned green and her Hyundai plowed into Williams Toyota Sequoia SUV.

Officer David Dowling, the lead investigator explained to Ms. Willaims why he believes she was at fault. “You had a green light so you had the right of way when you started to exit but when you got stuck in the middle of the intersection you lost that right of way.  Linda Barson now had a green light and had no way of knowing you were going to come across.”  Ms. Williams asked officer Dowling “In a situation like that what do you do because you can’t back up.”  “Exactly” Dowling replied.  “You just got stuck in a bad situation there.  I would just let the insurance companies work it out.  I am not going to give you a citation.”

Complex situations such as this are why it’s wise to talk to your attorney before giving a statement to any insurance company. Insurance investigators don’t have the expertise in many instances to determine what happened or how the facts work to support your position.  We can help!

We represent people who are injured because of the careless and reckless acts of others. At the end of the day your case can only be settled one time and you need to know all of the facts beforehand. The reason that insurance companies have paid our clients in excess of $130,000,000.00 is that we get the facts and are not intimidated at the prospect of going to trial when they refuse to follow the law. We help with serious issues that require serious representation. We are the Law Offices of Guenard & Bozarth. We have over 80 years of experience in our plaintiff’s only law firm. Never in my life did I think I would recommend an attorney. Somehow God sent this angel of an attorney to assist me in my personal injury lawsuit. I was told by lawyers in Bakersfield that my lawsuit was frivolous because there was money in it.
