Like most people, we love our dogs.  Large breeds and small breeds alike provide love, companionship and even protection to many people and there are people who have service dogs that they depend on with their lives.  With that said there are facts that simply cannot be ignored about many of these same dogs.  Sometimes unfortunate things happen and people are injured and some even die.  It is for this reason that California has such strict laws that clearly state pet owners are responsible for their animals’ behavior.  Every year an increasing number of Californians suffer injuries in dog bite accidents, or other pet attacks. At Guenard & Bozarth we take dog bites and animal attacks seriously.  We know that injuries can go well beyond physical scars and even amputations.  We see dog bite victims suffer from infection, scarring, disfigurement and psychological trauma.

Sometimes the psychological injuries are the most devastating and long lasting injuries sustained.  When we ask people if they have ever had a dog in their life they have loved we almost always hear a yes.  With that being said just imagine being a child that is attacked by a vicious dog and then spending the rest of your life afraid of dogs.  This is a real impact on someone’s quality of life and must be considered.

Any Dog May Bite

While a dog may be considered man’s best friend, not all dogs can be trusted. Owners are often negligent, either by not properly restraining their animal, or by failing to report its bite or vicious history.  Any dog – large breed or small and not just certain breeds – can bite and cause serious physical and emotional scars.  These scars can last a lifetime to small children and young people with their careers and other critical life choices still ahead of them.

Injuries Are Often Serious

Dog bites often cause serious muscle and tissue damage, and scarring.  There is also concern about diseases dogs can pass to humans through blood transfer. If you or your loved one is bitten by a dog, report the bite to Animal Control and to the Police and contact the Law Office of Guenard & Bozarth. It is important to remember to get the name of the owner and the dog’s license number, if possible, so that your medical costs and injury can be compensated through your claim.  Even if the dog’s owner is a friend or family member insurance policies provide safety nets.  Allow an attorney who is both compassionate and aggressive to help you in your recovery of compensation for your injuries.  Call us at 888-809-1075 or visit  We Can Help!

Never in my life did I think I would recommend an attorney. Somehow God sent this angel of an attorney to assist me in my personal injury lawsuit. I was told by lawyers in Bakersfield that my lawsuit was frivolous because there was money in it.
