Stephanie Erdman, an officer in the Air Force who was seriously injured by an exploding airbag is helping Honda’s effort to persuade car owners to get the dangerous part replaced. After nearly losing the sight in her right eye when the inflator in her 2002 Honda Civic exploded into pieces, Officer Erdman took action and started appearing in videos on Facebook targeting Honda owners.  To their credit Honda has started to rebrand some of their delivery trailers to urge change as well.

These videos came out just after a report found that the 19 automakers involved in the recall have replaced only 43% of the recalled Takata airbags despite the threat they can break apart and hurl shrapnel into both drivers and passengers. As many as nineteen people worldwide, including 13 in the U.S. have been killed by the faulty inflators and over 180 injured as Officer Erdman will attest. She was quoted saying “I feel like there needs to be a real sense of urgency on the part of anyone driving these cars. I don’t want them to have to go through what I went through.”  Officer Erdman is doing the videos for free and settled a lawsuit with Honda for an undisclosed sum.

If you aren’t sure if your car is included in the Takata airbag recall you can learn more by going to   When you get there simply type in your cars 17 digit Vehicle Identification number and it will give you the answer. If your car is involved call your nearest dealer as soon as possible and get the airbag replaced.  As far as we know the replacement is a free service and taking care of this could save your life or prevent serious injury.

Never in my life did I think I would recommend an attorney. Somehow God sent this angel of an attorney to assist me in my personal injury lawsuit. I was told by lawyers in Bakersfield that my lawsuit was frivolous because there was money in it.
